Selecting the Best Online Game Rental Company
With games costing an arm and a leg now, it's no wonder that everyone has turned to online video game renting. In the time span of about two years, online game rentals have exploded and currently over 2 million people have subscribed to some a service. I decided to see what all the hype was about and set out to try out all the major services. I had to learn the hard way what to look for in a video game rental company, and now I'm here to give you what I found.
The first thing you need to look at is game availability. Do you have any old school consoles like the Super Nintendo that requires older games? Do you have a PSP that requires brand new PSP games? If they have the video games you want, that's awesome but do they have them ready to ship out? This isn't really a big deal because typically the turn around time for video games are a few days maximum. Check to see they have an automatic queue system that sends out games on your list as they become available.
Shipping times will be the next thing you need to look at when you rent games online. Are you on the west coast? If so, then you probably wouldn't want to sign up for a company that has a shipping center up north because it may take longer to get to you. If you aren't strict on time, then this won't be a factor for you. Although, if you are a person who doesn't need to have things immediately, this won't be a huge factor.
Next on the list of things to check is the price and the plans. If you are an extreme gamer then you would probably require a plan that lets you rent out 2 or 3 video games out at a time. If you are more of a recreational gamer or you are on a budget, you will probably look for something that will let you rent out one or two video games at a time.
Last but certainly not least, make sure they have offer a free trial. Always make sure they offer a trial, this is usually the best way to figure out if you like a company or not. With the trial offer, you can take your time to decide if you like the service or not before giving them your money.
That's all you need to know about renting video games online. If you have these things taken care of, I guarantee you will have a very pleasent experience with your online game rental subscription. Also, if you would like to read some reviews, make sure you check out our gamefly review
